Welcome to the second swap of Crazy Paper Dolls. If you participated in the first, you know how it goes. If you are new to Crazy Paper Dolls, here's what you do: Ask yourself - does it look like a head? Search through your junk mail - the catalogs, the flyers, the takeout menus stuffed in your mailbox. Flip through your old magazines. This is a right brain activity, so try not to say to yourself "That's a jar of pickles," but instead look at the shape and the proportion. If it could be a woman's skirt, then it is. The elements should fit together in a design sense, but if your doll has a grape for a head and school buses for legs, that's quite alright if the sizes and proportions work. It doesn't have to be logical. It's helpful if there are at least one or two recognizably human elements, but not really necessary. Reinforcing your paper doll with cardboard is a good idea, but the doll does not have to stand up. If you want to put it together on a card, that's fine too. Minimum size is 3", but there is no maximum! You will mail it flat in an envelope. Open to unrated swappers, but please no 1s or recent 3s I will angel, but if you don't think you have time to do this please pass on by. You can probably find more than enough components in an hour of magazine and catalog flipping. |
