Thanks to @snout for the inspiration for this swap.
We are all going to have an adventure together! Thanks everyone for the fantastic directions you contributed!
- You can skip directions that don't make sense in the context you are in or creatively reinterpret them.
- When you're done, email your photos (five or more) to your partners with a short note about your adventure.
You will need: a camera, good walking shoes, a notebook and pen/pencil, a copy of the instructions. Take note of anything interesting or funny that happens on your adventure.
- Put on at least one brightly coloured item of clothing.
- Pick up something interesting or pretty that you own but don’t need anymore.
- Call a friend(s) and ask them to join you at a place you often meet. If they accept, they will be your partner for your adventure.
- If you’ll be completing the adventure solo, start by going out the nearest door to outside.
- From this point on: if you see a dog, take a picture of it. Pat it or play with it if appropriate and if you are comfortable with it.
- Run for as long as you can.
- Pick up something small and put it in your pocket.
- Go to the nearest bus stop and travel three stops OR if you are riding a bike/skateboard/etc., follow the bus line for five stops.
- Take a photo while you're traveling. If you are on a bus, take one out the window and one of the inside of the bus.
- When you get off the bus, take some notes: Describe where you are as if you’d never been there before. Where are you? What does it look like? What kind of people are there? How do you feel? What you see that you like? What do you dislike?
- Stop, look down, take a photo of your shoes and what you are standing on.
- From this point on: if you come to train tracks follow them for 2mins (in either direction)
- Ask a random person to point you in the direction they think you should go.
- Take a picture with that person. (if they agree)
- Follow the direction they give you (unless it is rude/impossible)
- If you come to a stop sign turn left.
- From this point on: If you hear music follow it and try to find the source.
- Look for a green space like a park/garden/lawn.
- Sit down and try to draw a map of where you have gone so far. Take a picture of it (or scan it when you get home.)
- Pick a flower and put it in your hair. If you can’t find any flowers use some leaves.
- Take a picture of whatever is above you right now
- Walk 100 steps to the left. If there is something in your way turn and keep going.
- Keep walking until you see something moving (a car, cloud, squirrel etc.) and follow it until you are blocked by something (such as a wall or bylaw)
- Look for something red (take a picture), then something orange (picture), then yellow (picture), green (picture), blue (picture), purple (picture).
- Find someone to say hello to, give them the thing you brought from #2, then skip away.
- Go to the nearest library (or bookstore if you can’t find one.)
- Check out a book with a title that intrigues you. (Just find it if you are in a store, and buy it only if you want to.)
- Take a picture of the book, then leave the building.
- Place the item you picked up in #7 on the nearest elevated surface and take a picture of it.
- As you find your way home, take a picture of anything you see with stripes.
Have fun!
