Description:

I'm making this a short turn around so we can get it out before the postage increase January 26th.

This is a newbie friendly swap. It should be extremely easy to do as long as you follow the guidelines below. Experienced swappers are also welcome.

Get a cute tote like the ones in the pic or Subway has some nice ones too. Just choose three different things from the list below, put in the tote and send to your partner child before the deadline.

coloring book and a small box of crayons

1 sheet of stickers - none smaller than a US penny

a small puzzle

an age appropriate book - gently used is fine

a small wrapped treat - ie: fruit snacks, small pkg cookies, etc

A handmade item

a gender appropriate toy

a small craft kit they can do alone or with adult help

glue sticks/ bottle of kids glue

colored pencils

drawing pad

a roll of tape

bottle of bubbles

a package of sidewalk chalk

play food

a package of tattoo's

a paint set

This is all I can think of right now....if you have any suggestions add them to the comment section below and I'll add them to the "official" list.

What to do:

Choose three different things that are on the list and send to your partner's child by the deadline. They must be different - example: DO NOT send 3 puzzles. This does not count. And no, a handmade puzzle DOES NOT count as 2 items. This is not a profile based swap, but check your partner's profile as a lot of swap-botters have their kids likes listed there. You may have to contact your partner to find out the age of their child and name. (Addressing the package to the child would be great...my grandson loves to get mail that is just for him.)

Newbies welcomed, with a well filled out profile (I DO CHECK). No recent/unexplained low ratings.

Also ~ I live in "Boonyville", Michigan and sometimes our internet connection isn't very good. This is especially true when it rains & in the winter months. So please be patient, partners will get assigned and if needed I will extend the send date.

Also I will NOT be able to angel this swap....but who would be low enough to flake on a child?

play food may be a good one (you could send a small fruit or cookie)

HeideC 01/10/2014 #

Are we to indicate the age/gender of the child we want to get this? I'm asking because you say gender appropriate toy and I have both male and female grandkids.

HeideC 01/10/2014 #

whoops, now I see you say contact our partner.

@Arrythmias - added it, thanks for the suggestion!

The tote bag picture is kind of blurry, and I'm not sure what a Subway tote is. What size should the bag be?

UnfoundedHope 01/11/2014 #

What about tattoos

froggieohio 01/12/2014 #

Not on my profile but my little house guest is 8. He loves Minecraft, Transformers. But most of all he loves mail so anything that comes in the mail he would love.

@ktmch82 - the totes in the pic are all different sizes. Subway restaurant puts kids meals in reusable totes instead of paper bags.

A local store has cute ones for 99 cents that a coloring book will slide into, but the book does stick out the top.

Most kids love totes, no matter the size...just nothing really tiny please.

@UnfoundedHope - I added the tattoos. I didn't think of them as my grandson is allergic to them.

@froggieohio - Hopefully your partner will contact you. It probably wouldn't hurt to contact them when partners are assigned.

Thank you! How about paint and a paintbrush? I just saw one of those things that has about 6 or 8 mini paint "pots" attached in a row at the store today and thought that would be cute for this- my nephew loves to paint!

My daughters want to decorate the tote. I bought them some plain totes and paint markers a few months ago & they had one left over, can they personalize it?!

Littleheartsx3 01/13/2014 #

Toys R Us sells some cute cheap totes too

institches 01/15/2014 #

@ktmcg82 - paints are a good idea! I've added them.

@DexCollins - A personalized tote would be great! Especially if someone has an unusual name. Our daughter's name is Cheyenne and we could never find anything with her name (she'll be 28 this May).

Just make sure you spell it right!

I know my little one is a bit younger than most signed up but she loves it when I get packages in the mail because we sit on the floor together and open them. She then has to inspect everything in the box! Lol she takes them out one at a time, examines them, turns them all around, and then puts them behind her before going on to the next item. Her name is Nicole, but we call her Nikki, and she's 10 months old. She adores board books and will take them all off her bookshelf, sit in the middle of them and look at them quietly for up to an hour! Any subject is fine as long as it's -not- religious. She enjoys soft cookies (no Oreo type please) & cheese-its. No gummy fruit snacks please as she chokes on them. We do play with bubbles. :-) and board puzzles. Feel free to send her anything butterfly or fairy related as that's what her room is decorated in and she likes looking at all the things on her up-high shelves and walls. I've also started putting fairy doors around in different places in her room (where she can't reach) and we go looking for them. Yes, she's very advanced for her age and baby toys do not interest her in the least. We play with mega blocks, fisher price little people, regular wooden blocks, and her shopping cart of play food. She picks out a piece of play food, then digs thru the rest to find the identical one. Sorry for the length of the post, just trying to provide a bit about her since she's not the typical 10 month old... I'll be sure to post up pics of her opening her box of goodies on my flicker for those who would like to see. :-)

My son is 6. His name is Hunter. He loves super heros and also is really into art such as painting. He has an art journal and a smash book. He loves getting stuff in the mail. I'm sure the envelope will end up in his Smash book. His favorite movies are Planes, Cars and Fast and the Furious. He is all boy and loves boy stuff. Favorite color is blue. I'm sure he will love anything he gets. :)

My daughter's name is Erin, she is 6 years old. She loves My Little Pony, The Littlest Pet Shop toys, and Play-Doh...but just getting something in the mail will make her day. Her favorite color is pink. Please no food, gum, candy or paint. Thanks!

I have twin boys that will be 22 months old soon. They are learning at a 2 year old level (maybe even a little higher than that). They love board books, matchbox cars, trains, animals, motorcycles and ATVs are huge, puzzles, etc. We just got a HUGE collection of play food, so please don't send any if at all possible. They enjoy anything that makes sound obviously, and are starting to pay attention to the TV a bit when it is on. Anything with the CARS theme (the movie) or the Planes move they enjoy. Also, small crackers, fruit snacks, that sort of thing are good (please no candy). I've been searching for those washcloths in the shape of a square that expand with water in a Cars theme. They are just starting to recognize Mickey too. If you have any questions at all just message me, I'll answer!

My son Mason is 6. He loves cars, angry birds, markers, anything crafty. He just loves getting mail. Please nothing with peanuts he is allergic.
