Newbies are quite incredible. Being one of the founders in Newbie Helpers has meant a lot to me. When we're seasoned members life's happened between the time we were newbies and OH the stuff we've seen on SB has hardened us. It's time for a swap like this. We will buy a jar or even better, repurpose a jar. I have a pickle jar I've cleaned up and am dying to use. We can decorate it, or not. That isn't part of the swap. The swap is to cut 10 strips of paper (preferably plain printer paper in light color: white, yellow, pink, orange) and easily foldable for our jars. On each of those pieces of paper you will write something happy, encouraging, thoughtful, etc. It can be a quote. It can be a tasteful joke. It can be personal note. It should only be a sentence or two so that it can be legible. And yes, it can even be printed/typewritten. You will do this 5 times as you will have 5 partners. When you receive your strips, fold them and put them into your jar without reading them. When you need a moment of happiness, you will have several to go to. This swap was encouraged by the kindness of a newbie who shared her joy jar with us and who changed the course of my day today. NOTE: The last day to sign up was purposely made on my girlfriends 40th birthday. She's someone who makes me happy. We will be out celebrating and with the number of people signed up, I will have to check every profile to keep our swap safe. I will be assigning partners on the 30th or 31st at the very latest. Thanks for your patience. |
