Description:

Ever wonder where wisdom resides? Some say that the Earth itself is merely a computer designed to calculate the key question that explains life, the universe, and everything! Let's test that theory ... no need to travel the galaxy at all. Although I can recommend a book if you'd like to try.

Quick! Grab two circulars (advertising flyers that come in the mail -- or "borrow" some from a neighbor, a friend, etc ..). Cut out some words and phrases from each and play with them until you have two sayings that sound like they could contain ancient or modern cryptic wisdom. Paste each wise thought on its own piece of paper, cite the unlikely sources of wisdom on the same piece of paper, and mail each one to a swap partner. That's it! Any embellishment, illustrations, doodles, or written examples of possible application of your new-found wisdom appreciated but not necessary :)

I angel all my swaps and I am happy to host a 1:1 swap.

Great idea for a swap! :)

Thanks! It was nothing, really. Just searching for a good cup of tea and wondering what the probability of finding wisdom in a room full of advertising account executives pulling scrabble tiles out of a bag might be ...

When you say "cite the unlikely sources of wisdom," do you mean make up someone who might have said it, attribute it to an existing / historical person, or cite the actual flyer it came from? Sorry to be dense, and/or blame my time in academia for wanting to be careful about citations... :^o

@camelsamba I have EXACTLY the same question!!! My vote would be that you have to cite the original source somewhere in the mailing, but you can make one up too if you wanna. - THE DAHLEE LLAMA (but really it was Sears Carpet Cleaning).

Wow, what a cool idea -- sorry I missed the question. I intended that you cite Sears Carpet Cleaning + Don's Rhododendron Removal Service, but making up one would be fun, especially if you combine the sources, ie "Don Carpet, Rhododendron Cleaner" or something like that.

@rngstgstll >like< (Rhodedendron cleaner ha ha ha...Don Carpet hee hee hee)

Coming back to see the instructions. Realized that I CAN use the newspapery fliers. For some reason I got the idea in my head that I had to use those ad POSTCARDS, and I haven't been getting any. I should be covered now...
