Used Postage Stamp ATCs

Can we use color copies of used postage stamps?

I have a lot of stamps, but some are a bit harder to come by so I was hoping I could use copies?

Too funny, I was coming online to post a swap with this theme. Now I'll just join yours. Stamps and cancelled stamps are one of my favorite elements to use when making collages. THANKS for hosting this.

Love postage stamp swaps- they always turn out great! Just finished the Christmas postage stamp swap and have more ideas so whoo-hoo, I'm joining. (This is the 5th postage stamp swap I have joined.)

As I'm fairly new to swapping, here I was thinking I had a brainwave and a nice new idea for a swap, but it's been done heaps before :P hee.

It's a shame that swap-bot doesn't have a list of all past swaps somewhere (not just the ones you were in) so you can check it out for repeat swap rounds. Hmm, I might email them.

I am glad I joined this swap! I had been trying to figure out what to do with all these stamps I have saved! I made 2 so far with the sub theme of Finland (I used pretty Finnish stamps I just got). They are on my flickr.

I just signed up and was reading the posts. I really hope my partners use real canceled postage stamps and not copies on the ATCs they sent to me. If you have a precious stamp just don't use that one or make an ATC and keep it for yourself.

I agree! Please only send me REAL STAMPS! Please!

Hi! I prefer real stamps, too, but if you have very beautiful precious stamps you can use copies, too. I then just wish that you add at least one spare real stamp somewhere on the ATC, please.

If you are in a pinch for a real stamp how about buying a new unused stamp for a low amount like 1 cent, 2 cents, 4 or 5 cents and asking the postal clerk to hand cancel it for you. That is actually cheaper than a store bought sticker if you think about it.

I have some copies of stamps from catalogs and some are poor resolution, I am glad that real stamps are being asked to be used in this swap.

I love nice stamps and buy pretty ones when they first come out and use them for my art swaps. I soak off all the stamps I get in the mail, in plain water, they slide right off after a while.

I am going to work on making ATCs for this swap tonight as I have the 'itch' to collage and delve into my stamp collection!

Why are we not getting the addresses to send to? Mine have been done and waiting in their envelopes for ages.

Since I am new to swap bot how do we know who we send to?

Mine are off to Marlene and Janet. I was so surprised to have a partner from the same state, and from a close-by town. That's the first time it hss happened.

Some of the stamps I used for this swap didn't have cancellation marks on them. They mostly came from Europe so they are used, I promise!

Murmel, I can't believe my envelope was shredded! I am glad they arrived safely. I try to take care to make them lie flat, use a gretting card for strength, etc. Sigh.

How horrible that someone's envelope got shredded. I also had a trade from a woman who's envelope was torn but the ATC arrived safely anyhow. She didn't even seal the envelope on both edges, she merely put a stamp at the bottom of the envelope to seal it, thus the machine tore it up pretty good. Lessons learned! Ladies and Gents! Please seal envelopes really well! It would be a tragedy to lose these beauties to the hungry P.O. machines!

Thank you for the two atcs! They are lovely! I received my other atcs from my other swap partner just today and this swap is done differently than my other swaps I've joined. We usually swap to each other so yesterday when I received yours I was confused because you are not the person I sent mine to.

Since I received from yet another person today that wasn't the person I sent my atcs to I realize this swap is done differently. It's fine with me! They are beautiful, I was just confused at first yesterday. I thought maybe I wasn't supposed to get them from you.
