Description: | |
I seem to enjoy a few themes the most in my ATC collection. One is cards with a cancelled or used postage stamp. I have a whole bin of saved stamps, that I have pulled off my mail to use for art. So lets have an Art-athon. Put aside some time to just create, create, create, all with your postage stamps. Make a few extras for other swaps. For this swap you will have 3 partners and you will send each partner 2 different cards. Just to be clear you can do the same cards for the partners, they will not know. But you will need to make 2 different cards for each partner. That is 6 cards total. There are few guidelines. Atcs are 2.5 x 3.5 with a firm backing, not just a piece of paper. the backing should be firm such as a recycled note card, greeting card, chip board cut from a cereal box, a playing card, or baseball card. or layers of card stock. The back of your card needs some kind of contact and identifying info. What you put there is your choice. I often use a mailing label, but I think I am out. This is about being creative and artistic. So you need to use more than one technique on your card. Sticker slapping isnt just about stickers. It is more about slapping. So add something to the card after you have glued down your stamp. Examples, inks the edges, add embellishments, use a rubber stamp, and bling, Mailing: Keep in mind if you have any bulk or bump you will need to add extra postage. That is your artistic choice, but you need to cover the cost to mail such a beauty. Your cards need to be in some water proof protective sleeve or alternative. Tape them down to your note card to prevent them from dancing around in your envelope. Remember the tape goes on the protective sleeve not on the card. Theme: You may use any stamp you choose, but please do not do patriotic or religious or holiday themes. So if you use a George Washington stamp, you can make him zetti but you cant make him patriotic. Beyond that this is a senders choice swap so you do not read profiles to get started. You can start now. I would read profiles when partners are assigned so you can better match up your art with your partners likes. Hey, I like sunflowers, cats, zetti, and butterflies. GO! GO! GO! Start making cards. I will angel this swap. |
