Faux Ephemera Postcard
So, all of us love ephemera but some of it is hard to get a hold of or expensive. So, what about all the really cool ephemera reproductions we've acquired over the years? Or, perhaps you have some favorite ephemera but you don't want to send the original off?
THIS SWAP IS FOR YOU!
Create a mailart postcard for 1 partner using FAUX ephemera. Faux means fake so it's a reproduction of the real thing.
An option is to scan your favorite ephemera - keeping the original for yourself and using a print out for this postcard
Another option is to use print outs of digital downloads or some of the purchased reproductions like Tim Holtz, 7 Gypsies or other scrapbook papers depicting ephemera
Use rubber stamps that are designed to resemble ephemera
If you print out your own ephemera, be sure your printer isn't running out of ink. Stores like Office Depot will print color pages for less than 50 cents and the quality is amazing. Even my public library recently acquired a color laser printer that the public can use. One thing I find is the ink dot printers that most of us have at home aren't water proof and those will bleed if they get caught in the rain. The laser print outs from stores - like Office Depot - are much more permanent - probably not completely but pretty near.
Feel free to share links in the comments below to free download sites if you have some favorites.
Postcards are to be hand made and can be any size but no smaller than 4 x 6 inches. Apply proper postage depending on size and bulk.
This is sender's choice so you can begin now.
Create something wonderful.
This is obviously a collage type swap but feel free to add anything else you want - rubber stamping, drawing, painting, stenciling, rubbings, etc. You may also use real ephemera or other paper as part of your postcard.
Be sure to include your name and the name of the swap so you can get rated.
Have fun!
