Description:

I hosted several installments of this series a couple of years ago and am going to see if there is still interest in it!

From about.com: An art journal is a journal or diary that has a strong visual element to it, an expression of your artistic creativity and imagination, not filled only with words like a traditional journal. It's a journal for using your art to express your memories, dreams, and thoughts. How you create the images, and what type of imagery you make, is entirely a matter of personal choice. There are no rules. You can paint or draw, use pen and ink, photos, collage, doodle, stickers... anything and everything.

  • You will have one partner

  • Finished page will be 4" by 6" (10.16 cm x 15.24 cm); you can choose portrait or landscape orientation

  • Sign or initial the front of the page

  • Include a note with the swap name and your Swap-Bot name

  • Choose your backing material by how much you are going to glue/add to the front - if you are doing a drawing and not adding any thickness, start out with a really sturdy backing. If you are doing a layered collage, you might want to start out with a thinner backing, etc.

  • Your page should have at least one word on it. The journaling/text does not have to be elaborate - you can paste a single word on the page or you can journal several paragraphs - totally up to you!

  • Your page does not have to be serious or though provoking - it can be fun or funny, serious or light-hearted. The choice is yours!

  • You can use any technique(s) you want to illustrate your feelings about the current installment's topic/theme. Stickers are allowed (I love using stickers!) but "sticker slapping" is NOT allowed.

Let your imagination, creativity, and thoughts run wild! Add pockets and/or tags, 3D embellishments, moving parts, doors, windows, etc.

I purchased a spiral bound journal that is approximately 5" by 7" in which I am mounting the pages I receive. Because we are trading 4" by 6" pieces you could add them to your postcard collection, store them in a photo album, etc. - you wouldn't have to make them into an art journal at all!

This swap is international; I will angel if needed (once a "1" rating is given); I reserve the right to ban anyone about whom I feel "iffy".

Please post any questions you have below so that everyone can see the answer - thanks!
