I totally stole this idea (with permission) from Kalycakes over at atcsforall.com. I had so much fun doing it that I wanted to do it again. The graphic above, if i did this right, is a monster that my daughter, Charlotte, age 9 at the time, created with me. You will grab a little person, preferably under the age of 12, and ask them to draw a monster on an ATC card. Then, you make it awesome by coloring, shading, and making a background for it. You can use any medium you like, but no bulky embellishments. These cards turn out so cool. Kids have an uninhibited style of art that makes great monsters. The trick here is not to change the monster, but to embrace it's quirks. The nitty-gritty... You have to have a 4.98 rating to join. People will probably want to share these with the kids that participated, and nothing is sadder than a child waiting by the mailbox for a card that never comes. I will angel, but I don't want to. This is international, so be prepared for that. It's small though, so it won't be too expensive. Since there's no theme here besides unbridled creativity and monsters, you can start it whenever. This is the first "public" swap I've hosted, so if I've left anything out, or there are any questions, please let me know. |
