I had a swapper @marymary914 direct me to a technique. So, here it is. You will make one ATC for one partner. Find a pretty magazine page or one with lots of words. Either one will give a nice look. On this magazine page, ( I used a glossy page) you will lay your plastic stencil. Over the stencil, you will put down a strip of clear packing tape. The cheap kind works just as well as the expensive stuff. Now keep laying down your tape covering the stencil. Overlap the tape a little onto the previous strip of tape. Brayer over the completed page or use you finger to press the tape securely onto the magazine page. Soak this magazine page in water for 5 to 7 minutes. Shake off the water a bit & pull the page off of the transfer & the tape off of the stencil. Your tape will have pieces of the magazine stuck to it. Once it dries, this is the piece you will use to make your ATC. Make your interesting ATC & then lay the tape over the ATC. It should be sticky enough to adhere to the ATC or you can add glue dots to hold it down. Cut the tape around your ATC. You can add embellishments over the top of the tape if you wish. Sometimes, you will need to rub off the wet magazine off the back of the transfer but I have been lucky that the page pulled off easily in one piece. |
