Edited: You may make any size card as long as it's mailable.

Let's make some easy washi cards! Grab a few rolls of tape or some of the samples you've received lately and lay some strips side by side on a piece of card stock (or use cut up manila folders). In my example above, I put them diagonally and then added a stamped "hello" saying in the corner. As not all washi tape is not created equal, I like to fold the edges around to the back so they'll stay down. When you have put as many strips as you want on the card, adhere it to a folded card.

Feel free to use a similar design or come up with one of your own. You can always do a "google" search for more inspiration. Adding a stamped greeting is optional. Your cards can just be all strips, as they are pretty too.

Fine Details

  • 2 partners; one washi card for each. You will write a note to your partners inside the cards.
  • Decorate your envelopes with tape (on the front; use several different colors).
  • Include 4 twelve-inch strips for your partner to play with.
  • Sender's choice on colors (so we can all begin creating now if we want to).

Warning, once you try one a simple washi card, you may be inspired to create more and more of them to use them for pen pal cards, swap cards, etc.

Have fun! :)

Just a heads up - the swap description says 2 partners, but the number above says one, so we may only get one assigned partner.

What size should the card(s) be?

Number of swap partners were changed to "2"..... I would think that any size card (mailable size) is acceptable....

Thanks, Barb, for fixing the number of partners. Yes, you are correct, any mailable sized card works for me.
