The last creative snail mail swap hosted by me was a penpal booklet. I will be re-hosting that one again. This time, we will be experimenting even more and getting creative with our snail mail again. Do you love snail mail, writing letters, and penpals? But do you find writing page after page on normal letter set paper is boring? Do you want to create something more for your new penpal? This swap is for you. :) For this creative snail mail swap, we will be making Themed kit. Everything in the envelope for our partner will have some sort of theme, for example, a colour. We will be writing a letter, but we'll also be including more things in the happy mail which are fun, and little extras that our partners will be able to use in more of their snail mail adventures. So, what will we make?
~ A hand written letter for your partner which includes a small introduction, anything about you, your life, things on your mind, etc. Again, senders choice and whatever you wish to write about. Please no less than 2 pieces of paper - no memo sized paper. ~ A list of 10 Random facts about you on a separate piece of paper or ephemera. You could write on a bookmark, tag, postcard, etc. ~ A list of 3 things you and your partner have in common. Again, written on any paper or ephemera, same as above. Take a look at your partners profile & see what you have in common, and list that. For example, a favourite colour, a collection of crafts, a TV show, etc. ~ A mail tag. These are one of the many new crazes in the snail mail world on pinterest, etc, like pocket letters. Mail tags are simple fun games, where you write simple requests for your penpal to send back to you, e.g, you have "tagged" them. Things to request are small, simple things such as, Tell me about your favourite place, Send me your favourite teabag, List 5 things you couldn't live without, Send me a list of books you have read recently, Send me back a receipt from your purse. The mail tag can be written by you, or any paper or ephemera. If you would like an example, this is a great one over here, click me! ~ 3 small pieces of ephemera/extras. Senders choice. You could include anything here. Ideas include a tea bag, a rubber stamped image, a bookmark, a journal card, vintage ephemera, memos/stationery sheets, an ATC or ATC supplies, anything handmade, washi tape samples, things like beads/feathers/ribbon, paper stock & printed papers, stickers. Anything goes. :) Optional but not required; Include more lists, something handmade, a tea/small snack, an article/something to read.
This is a creative swap. This requires time and effort. Please make sure you can commit to this, it is not just as simple as sitting down to write a letter on A4 paper. Please also HAVE FUN with the swap! Don't stress about what you should include, if it is right or if it looks good. I promise you, it does! Your partner will love it. This is type 3 because it is a creative swap. This doesn't have to be a package or parcel and can be flat and cheap to post even international. Have fun! |
