I just took part in my first travelling postcard swap and really thought it was a swell idea. And then I thought, How about one using a fabric post card? I am setting a long sign up period to give time for those who need to make a PC to start. KEEP IN MIND YOU ONLY NEED TO CREATE ONE FABRIC POST CARD FOR YOUR FIRST SWAP, ALL SUBSEQUENT SWAPS..YOU WILL BE SENDING ON THE ONE YOU RECEIVED FROM THE SWAP BEFORE......AND EVENTUALLY YOU WILL GET YOUR CARD BACK WITH THE RECORD OF ITS TRAVELS Let's give this a try and see if there is enough interest. First you will need a fabric postcard. If you need to make one there are lots of tutorials online like the one here FOR THE FIRST ROUND: Perpare a card (no bigger than 5 x 7") to keep the postage down. It will need to fit into an envelope. Make it lovely as it will come back home to you in the end. Put your name and address on the right hand side of the card. Put the title of the swap ("Fabric Fanatics Travelling PC Swap", RND#1, and your SB user name) at the top of the left hand side. Do this in one line if you can so as to leave lots of room belwo for subsequent signatures. Now you can pop it into an envelope and mail it to your partner. When you receive a postcard from your partner...HOLD ON TO IT...for use in the next round.... SUBSEQUENT ROUNDS When you go to send the postcard you have received in the next round, you will write the swap name, your user name, and location on the left hand side under the person's before you. When the left side of the postcard is full, the last person will stamp the postcard and send it to the original sender. This last send should be done naked.....the postcard...not you:) The return to sender should be done as soon as the card is full. You do not need to wait to sign up for a swap to do that. You will need to start a new card for further swaps. If at some point you do not want to play anymore, please send the postcard in an envelope back to the original maker...their address will be on it. |
