QnT Framed Pinwheel quilt blocks 2015 USA 9-19-15 thru 10-9-15 --2 different Framed Pinwheel blocks to each partner (total of 4 blocks mailed) --2 partners I think these blocks are very cute and would look great in bright and cheerful colors, especially in 1930’s reproduction prints. But not to worry, if you don’t have 1930’s reproduction prints just use bright and cheerful prints from your stash. Avoid picking fabrics with lots of dull, drab colors, and remember to always use 100% cotton quilting fabrics. (no flannel) We will make these blocks scrappy using as many different prints as you can. What a great way to use up some smaller scraps of fabric! ---bright prints for pinwheel and corner squares ---plain white or white-on-white print for the rest If this swap goes over well and we have lots of folks interested we will have more rounds in coming months. I have gallon zippy bags in my sewing studio (sewing studio aka: one corner of the bedroom) that I collect and store different quilt blocks for when the time comes (Lord willing) I get to retire! That way I’ll have lots of beautiful blocks all ready to assemble into quilts. I have one bag full of the Diamonds and Jewels blocks, another of the Attic Window blocks, and another of HST’s. (half square triangles) I can’t wait to start a zippy bag full of Framed Pinwheel blocks! |
