Description: | |
Pretty basic, you write a set of 101 writing prompts (examples at bottom of this). Then email it to four partners. You can write four different lists if you so wish, but its ok to send the same one four times. Then you receive four lists yourself, so you'll have 404 ideas for your writing, 505 if you count the one you wrote yourself aswell. That's it! If you want to keep in touch with your partners and see what they've come up with using your prompts, tell them when you email your list. Don't sign up if you're not prepared to keep in touch and share work. Examples Of Writing Prompts 1) A title 2) A first line 3) A part of a first line (She walked slowly towards...) 4) A main character profile (Kristie; teacher; age 36; interested in the occult; easily swung to someone else's opinion... etc). This should be quite detailed, you're creating a character which your partner will weave a story about. 5) A main character, key object, setting and what its going to be about. (female librarian, ancient artefact, museum, about time travel). You can make them make sense together (like the one I wrote) or you can challenege your partner and make them really weird (a doctor, a camera, train station; about ghosts.) PLEASE USE ALL FIVE TYPES IN YOUR 101. NO PINCHING OFF WEBSITES WITH YOUR PROMPTS - MAKE UP YOUR OWN, YOU MIGHT INSPIRE YOURSELF TOO! And just think of that huge file of prompts you are going to have when you next get writer's block! |
