Every seamstress has those small scraps of material that they hate to throw away! It can be leftovers from cutting strips or cute pieces we have cut from clothing we have tossed because of tears. Lets use those pieces to make a cute Teesha Moore style patch. Basic construction: Sandwich a piece of batting between two pieces of fabric and embellish the front. You can either embellish the top piece and batting before you sew all the layers together, or you can sew through all three layers. Add a separate binding (tough to do on something so small) or cut the back layer larger than the top, fold the edges over and whip stitch around the edges. For this swap you will make one small Teesha Moore patch for one partner. The patches cannot exceed 4 inches by 4 inches. Each patch should have some kind of embellishment on it to make it have some extra “wow†factor. A sequin, a button, a bead, a ribbon...just something to make it special. The patch can be hand sewn or machine stitched. Since this is an Intro to... swap, it is Sender's Choice. Check Pintrest and Etsy for lots of examples! The swap picture above is a tiny patch I made for a swap. It is only 2 x 3 inches. |
