Description:

This is an international swap, open to newbies with a complete and detailed profile.

This swap was the very FIRST swap I ever hosted...it got my feet wet, to this addictive hobby! It was FUN that time, and it still is!

SwapDetails: You will make FOUR collage pages, and send them to TWO swap-partners - two pages to each swap-partner. Since these are flat and easy to mail, it is open to international swappers.

I am also giving quite a bit of time between sign-up and mailing deadline so you can put them together.

What you will do:

~*~ Take a sheet of card-stock, water-color paper, or other sturdy paper, 8.5" x 11" (normal printer size).21.59 X 27.94 cm

~*~ Go on a "Hunt" for various interesting ephemera/pictures/colors, like shown in the picture - - these were pictures cut from catalogs and magazines and even sheet music. (You can also use dictionaries or choose a certain color, and find anything and everything that falls into that category.)

You can make your pages with a "theme" - like shown in the pictures, with "clocks" or "music" or even "rugs", or not, and just use anything you find.

~*~ Cut or tear them into pieces and adhere them to the sheet of sturdy "backing paper". (I used rubber cement, it sticks without curling the paper and any excess can be easily rubbed off.)

~*~ Cover the entire page of backing paper, applying glue to a section at a time, then trim around the edges to make sure the sides are straight, after the adhesive dries. Have FUN with it!

~*~ Repeat. Each participant makes four sheets total, and mails two of them to each of their swap partners.

These can be used for fun backgrounds on ATC's, and inchies, or homemade cards or other fun paper crafts. Even the kids can help (with some supervision).

If you are like me, once you start this, you may just like it so much that you will just keep going!

Newbies are very welcome - BUT please have a completed profile, first. (and yes, I'll check). A rule of thumb is, when I open your profile page, I should have to scroll down to read it.

I'm allowing a few weeks to get these done - they really ARE quite addictive!

Have fun with this, and let's see what we come up with! If you have any questions, just post it, or message me.

I make a lot of collage paper. Then I make color copies at a print shop. Then I use the paper as starters for other mixed media art. My question is....Can we send quality color copies or do they have to be the originals? I put hours and hours into one page. I do not want to send my originals.

Thank you for asking, (also answered via private message)

I am thrilled that you already have ideas of what to use your pages for, but for this swap, yes, you would send the originals. The swap is open to newbies, and I want them to get ideas of how to make them,

You would receive someone's originals, in the swap, but if you send a photo-copy of yours, I think you would risk a lower rating, because your partner had sent HER originals to her partner (I hope that makes sense)

I do understand that you may choose not to join us, and I understand, and wish you very well. I hope you might join us in a future swap, sometime.

Be well...keep creating!
