This is a newbie-friendly version of my "Month of Tea" series. The rules are identical, except this swap also allows unrated new members. Newbies with a well filled out profile are welcome! A month has approximately 30 days, so... Send your swap partner 30 individually wrapped teabags. This is supposed to be a swap for those swappers who like to try a variety of teas! This is sender's choice and you can send whatever you have. This includes infusions and fruity teas. Send AS MANY DIFFERENT TEAS AS POSSIBLE! Ideally, this swap includes at least one sample of every tea in your household. No less than 10 different sorts. (Receiving teas you don't like so much is not a reason to rate down - you can simply send them on in another swap.) However, please make sure none of the teas are expired (we want to drink them, after all!) and the wrappings aren't damaged (both for hygienic reasons and because some of us collect those wrappings). That also means: put no glue or tape on the wrappers. IF you have a variety of teas (more than 30 different sorts, LOL) to choose from, of course it would be nice to check your partner's profile for likes and dislikes when you decide what to send. You might want to check for any allergies, anyway. I will angel this swap though I hope it won't be necessary. "Oldies" are welcome in this swap, although this is NOT the place to fix fishy ratings. I will check participants and remove anyone who looks problematic. This includes anyone with a rating of under 4.98 (unless there's a really good explanation and you contacted me before signing up), anyone with recent or still fixable bad ratings, and anyone otherwise known as a problematic swapper (notorious late-senders, non-raters etc.). Of course this won't help in case a new member flakes, but newbies do have to start somewhere. Please sign up only if you can live with that risk. (I also host this swap in a "no newbies" version - please check it out if you feel safer that way!) Explanations specifically for newbies (experienced swappers can skip this section): You might have noticed that some swap hosts don't allow any newbies in their swaps. This is because many people sign up for swaps but then "flake", which means, they don't send the swap. This is risky, especially in expensive swaps. To be on the safe side, hosts usually avoid members without any previous ratings. However, I realize newbies have to start somewhere, and I set my swaps up in a way that allows experienced swappers to decide for themselves whether they want to take the "risk" or not. So I WILL allow unrated newbies in this swap. However, I require a well filled out profile with info about your person and some likes and dislikes. That shows me you are serious about joining swap-bot and didn't just click somewhere. It's in your own best interest to have an informative profile: it significantly lowers the risk of receiving items you don't like so much. Anyone with an empty profile will be removed from this swap. It might be a good idea to list some tea likes and dislikes on your profile. This is a sender's choice swap, which means, you are not required to send only tea your swap partner lists. However, most swappers look at their partner's profile anyway and at least try to send something the swap partner won't totally hate. In tea swaps like this one, it's really useful to have the information about favorite teas (so the person sending to you can send them if possible) and dislikes (you really hate green tea, or you're allergic to mint? Well, it might be a good idea to make this known!). The person sending to you most likely wants to make you happy, but can not magically guess things like that. |
