In this Newbie Helper swap, unrated swappers are welcome with a well filled profile & established swappers must maintain a 4.98 rating and have no recent or unexplained/unresolved 1's or 3's. I have classified it as a type 3 due to the slight call for a crafting component and you will have 2 partners so this swap will get you 2 ratings and possibly 2 hearts! This is also an international swap, so please be aware when signing up that increased postage costs may be incurred. I reserve the right to ban anyone, at any time and without explanation should I see fit to do so.
Let's get down to the nitty gritty!
This swap welcomes established swappers looking to refill their swap card stash but is a GREAT swap for those who are just getting their swapping career underway here at Swap-bot.
For a newbie, a GREAT practice to get into is including a swap card with your outgoing swaps. These little gems are a perfect way to let your partner know what the swap is, who sent it & when it was mailed. This is also a good swap for showing that you are "following directions" as you will have to add some small craft component (you could make and attach a real ribbon bow or a nice layered punchie embellishment maybe a tiny, free floating quote tag, or even SEW on a button or some lace!) to your swap cards and you will have to personalize them to include your partners Swap-bot ID as well as incorporate something from each of their profiles. If they like red, use a red base or if they enjoy a steampunk/vintage style, use a free printable from Ephemeras Vintage Garden as a background. Perhaps your partner likes washi tape and Hello Kitty - You may create your swap cards to look like Hello Kitty's head or use a strip of Hello Kitty Washi as a border on your card. The possibilities are practically endless! Sticker slapping is not encouraged but please feel free to "artfully use" stickers to enhance your swap cards.
You are expected to make 5 cards for each of your partners and they may all be the same or you can create different designs for each card but please keep in mind that they all need to include your partners Swap-bot ID as well as something inspired by their profile. Also required to be on the swap card is an area for your partner to write the swap name & the date they mailed. You can print, hand-write or stamp all the info needed on each card as long as each one has a spot on it that your partner can fill in their own swap details.
If you need some inspiration, just do a google search for swap bot swap cards and you can see how some others have made theirs. This example shows a blank set of cards I made in Paint that can be customized. Feel free to use this one or create your own. I have seen some pretty cool ones made with the DIY business card programs, so that is always an option too, just dont forget the crafting component.
Now, Since this is a PROFILE BASED swap I will allow plenty of time between when partners are assigned and when you need to send, but the pressure is ON! lol. Create something you would feel sad to part with and that your partner would be proud to pass along with their name on it.
While you are at it you should also create 2 for YOU to include with your info, the swap name etc, so you can be properly and promptly rated Maybe include a little note explaining how you used their profile as inspiration for the cards as it may not be apparent at first look.
Now, as for rating if you get what the swap requires - 5 personalized swap cards - please rate a 5. Hearts are always at the receivers discretion but If my partner sent a few extra cards, or really went all out incorporating a few things from my profile on the 5 she made me, I would give a heart for that.
Please pm me with any questions and have fun!
