Description:

It's time for a little delicateness. For April we are full of whimsy with lavender, cream and just a tiny tiny touch of black. Think you can handle it? Think tea cakes, wildflowers and satin ribbons!

WHO: you and whomever else who is apart of the flickr coloriffic swaporama group

WHAT: a monthly color themed handmade swap to a “secret" person.

WHERE: all over the world

WHY: because it is fun!

WHEN: last day to sign up is March 5. Packages are to be sent between March 25 and April 5. NOT sooner and NOT later.

HOW: to play along you must first be a member of the coloriffic group. this swap is a password only swap. to get the password, E-MAIL jek or genny. to receive the password, you MUST include the following in your email. jek can be reached at jekinthebox AT gmail DOT com...

subject line must read : APRIL swap. include a link to your flickr page, yer swap-bot page and at least one of the GETTING TO KNOW YOU topics in the group pool. OR, you can add those links to yer swap-bot profile page and simply email an admin the link to yer profile. if your email does not include appropriate links you will NOT be given the password and we will NOT send you a correction email. PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THE PASSWORD. this would not be fair to those who follow the directions.

does all that up there help?

COLORIFFIC SWAP-O-RAMA IS A MEMBERS ONLY SWAP

DON’T FORGET TO STICK YER FLICKR NAME SOMEWHERE ON YOUR SWAP-BOT PROFILE (no flickr name, no password!)

that way, the person who is sending to you will be able to spy and see what yer likes & dislikes are. also, visit the group pool over on flickr and add your two cents to any one of the GET TO KNOW ME topics. you can find out fabulous info on the person you are sending to and you can give us all a clue as to what makes YOU tick.

i think that covers all the bases except of course what type of package to send. there are 5 rules for a spiffy coloriffic package...

  1. items must reflect the color them of the month
  2. there must be at least one handmade item
  3. only send what you would LOVE to receive. think quality. be proud!
  4. don’t make jek be a bad cop. she HATES being a bad cop! :)
  5. HAVE FUN!

tea parties and antique quilts! ~jek, genny & teresa

**there has been much discussion on ways we can better this group and it seems we are pretty much a-okay. for those of you who are uncertain and to keep things fairly level for all packages we want for you to first and foremost have fun with putting your package together. shipping costs can really hurt so plese, don't go overboard! think light and flat. as this is an international swap we will not put a dollar amount to what you spend. i have received amazing packages that were all mostly handmade and sometimes when money is tight i send mostly handmade and have been quite proud of what i send. to keep all packages as level as possible, please make sure you have a minimum of 6 items. this does not include 6 pieces of origami paper or 6 buttons. you know what we mean. here is a sample of what you can send. this is only an example as the person you are sending to may not prefer any of these items or you may not have a need for any of these items...

  1. handmade item
  2. interesting/local candy, sweets or mints
  3. something to craft wtih (yarn, paper, buttons, etc.)
  4. something for vanity (lip balm, scented oil, candles, etc.)
  5. something unique from where you live (local crafter or fun souvenir)
  6. something to write with (pens, pencils, stationery, etc.)

and as always send a thank you via email or handwritten to the person who sent to you and post pictures of what you send AND receive! oh, and don't forget to rate yer person on swap-bot!
