Oaxaca Inspired Animals

I love the hand painted wood animals that are famous in Oaxaca, Mexico. In this swap, we will create one hand painted art doll animal for our 1 partner, that is inspired by this beautiful Mexican Folk Art.

Your art doll must be at least 5 inches, and please sign your doll somewhere. You can not just send a completed doll that you have purchased...you must paint your own creation. You may use any type of base you like (you may purchase a base, repurpose a base, or even make a base)....meaning you can choose a wood animal that you paint, or a paper mache form, or you can make an animal with some sort of clay, paper mache, 2 part epoxy, etc..even a ceramic or plaster animal that you repaint. Obviously, a paper mache base will probably be the lightest for shipping.

These are simple, but they can be time consuming... as layers usually need to dry in between layers. So make sure to give yourself enough time to make/paint/dry/seal your project. The choice of animal, the style, and colors, and even mediums are all your choice. You can use others mediums in addition to paint. Did you see the ones with hair added....so awesome.
