At Home With the Georgettes - swap re-do for: @user2148 & @Autist Herbs and windflowers were indispensable items in Georgian times. Whether for adding flavour to food, remedies for ailments, cleaning solutions, scents or even ridding one's home of pests, herbs were grown, dried and saved for many everyday uses. The purpose of this progressive swap is for us to create a card catalogue of herbal knowledge. In each swap, we will highlight another herb to learn about. For our swap, you will make a postcard that features our chosen herb/wild flower, large enough to add a good amount of information. Ideally it should be no smaller than 4 x 6. You may like to use a horticultural drawing for the front of your card to lend a Georgian touch. On the reverse, please add the basic properties of the herb and if you are so inclined, a recipe, remedy or tip for the herb of the month. As we go forward through the many different herbs, you will have an invaluable file of useful information that will form the basis of your own private herbal, something every household referred to. In this Postcard Herbal Swap, let us think about Lavender, a versatile beautiful plant. This is to form a part of our herbal index it is advisable you mail your card in an envelope. |
