Hello everyone! This is an international swap for delicious and wholesome vegan recipes. Please send 5-7 of your favorites to each of your two partners. The recipes can be clipped from magazines/newspapers, photocopied, or neatly handwritten (and hand-decorated!) -- whatever works best for you.

Newbies welcome! This should be a fun, easy, and inexpensive swap.

Hi, I was just wondering . . . Does honey count as vegan for this swap? I consider vegan to simply mean no meat, no milk, no eggs but I know that some vegans don't use honey either (because it is associated with bees). The thing is, honey is way better for you than sugar. Thanks for letting me know!

Hi TexasQuilter1 -- Thanks for asking! Brown rice syrup and agave nectar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agave_syrup) are often good substitutes for honey. Depending on your recipes, how about you write, for instance, "1 tbsp of honey, sugar, or other substitute" so your swapping partners can adjust the recipe to their preferences?
