What do you mail these in so they don't get messed up in the mail?

I was wondering the same thing. I saw a small flat rate box at the post office the other day that was $4.95, but that seems a little high for a matchbox. If anybody has a better way, I would like to know it.

Maybe bubble wrap in an envelope.

Question- Do you generally decorate the matchbox?

i usually fold some cardstock around the matchbox, to keep it from getting crushed, and then send it in a bubble wrap lined mailer.

i like to decorate the outside in addition to covering it with either fabric, ribbon, or pretty paper (or a combo of them).

I made my first matchbox, but I think I am going to do mine over with a bought matchbox, because I think they might be more sturdy. I used heavy cardstock, but I am afraid it might get squished, especially since I have an international partner. Has anybody found that bought matchboxes ship better, or am I just being paranoid?
