An INterNAtioNAL SWAP!!!!!

You are signing up to participate in a tip-in altered book swap. A tip-in is basically just like book altering, but instead of getting a book with pages to alter – you create pages to put in or to create an altered book. All tip-ins have different size requirements. For this one I would ask that you take an 8 ½ x 11 inch sheet of sturdy cardstock and turn it so that the height is 8 ½ and the width is 11. Fold the sheet across (horizontally) so you have a double page spread. Then alter away!!!

The theme for this swap is “VINTAGE".. anything VINTAGE from paint to embellishments.. no specific subject matter - that part is up to you! You will have 2 partners and you will need to send one double page spread to each of your partners – and you will receive one back from each of your partners. Remember no 2 artists are the same, make room in your mind and heart to receive the work of others...Dosen't have to be Ephemera...the sky's the limit!

I would also like for you to make a signature tag for each of the double page spreads you send out so that if your pages are included in a book the owner can have info on all of the artists.

Remember to leave an allowance in the middle of the spread to allow for binding, keep bulky embellishments away from the center of the page, and try to minimize heavy embellishments.

The ultimate goal would be to have enough pages for an entire book – so I plan on posting more of these swaps if this one goes well.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS – For those of us living in Europe, the page is A4 size!

I did not realize that there was another "pink" swap for a tip in...This one will be vintage and the rest can go as the group dictates...color...theme...season...whatever!

Hi JerseyTjej, Good to see this swap being offered. I have been in all the color swaps and I do love them, but I have been thinking about doing some other themes. This vintage one is good. I've been thinking about doing one with favorite quotes - words of wisdom or something along those lines. At any rate - good to be doing this one! Betsy

Hi, I'm confused (more than usual), I signd up for pink and now find it's vintage, I dont mind as I love vintage but I also love pink. So will we be doing pink some time soon?

JerseyTjej 04/26/2007 #

Kathleen, initially it was pink, but i am still planning to do mine pink and vintage so don't worry! I wanted to change the wording because of an issue.!

Thanks for that, No problem I love vintage and will just go where the muse takes me when I'm playing with these.

I cannot believe that there are not more people out there wanting to complete an altered book! I hoped we would get at least a pool of 25 participants!

Partners are assigned! Thanks so much for participating!

I found this one by accident. Maybe the next one add it to the book category too. That is where I look for these types of swaps.

Hi, Jersey Tjej. I loved working on this swap! What's next?[chuckle, chuckle]. Your spread, and yours too, Jessica, are sealed up and ready to go. :0)

Hi Cookiebear and Jessica, keep and eye out in 7 to 10 days as your tip-ins are winging their way to you from New Zealand :-)))

Hi JersayTjej, I agree with Jessica, next time list under Paper goods, books, art and that way more tip-in makers will see it. I too only found it when it was in the list at the side of the page other wise I would never have see it.

Thanks so much ladies for all of the valuable information! I miss my altered book so badly and the only way I can complete a new one is to tip it! You ALL rock! Regina
