Hello! This is the first swap I've ever hosted, so please ask questions if something isn't clear! This is an ATC swap (artist trading card). ATCs are like baseball cards but with art on them. I use 2.5 x 3.5 blank cards that I order from Amazon. Other people hand cut them. It's all good. The theme is "mail". We're all here because we love sending and receiving mail. I have a huge ziploc bag of used stamps that I've salvaged from incoming mail, and I'm looking for ways to use them. You might have other bits and bobs related to mail floating around. I tried to include a photo but apparently it was too big. I made a simple ATC that I wanted to show you. The background is from a security envelope I received. There is a piece of blue scrapbook paper. And the rams are some stamps that came on a letter. Now I am not a fabulous artist (yet) but we all have to start somewhere. If you are new to ATCs that's fine, but I'd like to see some effort made. My style is a little minimalist but at least 3 elements should be included. Ideas for what those might be: painted background * stamps * washi tape * a sticker (not just 3 stickers slapped on the card) * a rubber stamped detail * snippets of decorative paper * a magazine clipping * some words * a drawing you made * sticky backed rhinestones * glitter * whatever else you can come up with On the back of the ATC, please put the swap name, your name, and your Swap-bot nickname. I like to add a date. Since this can be a fairly simple project, please send 2 ATCs to your swap partner. Include a note so there is something more than 2 cards in the envelope. If you receive an envelope with 2 ATCs and a note, please rate a 5. Hearts of course are at the recipient's discretion. I think that covers everything, If something is unclear or if I left something out, let me know! |
