Do you like to use paper piecing to spice up your scrapbook pages like I do? In this swap everyone will have 1 partner and you will make 1 paper piecing item for them. This could be paper dolls, seasonal themed or anything that requires taking a pattern and making a paper piecing from. Please aim for hearts! The more detail - the more appreciated the item will be.

All the stuff we hate - but must know! LIMITED TO THE USA/CANADA - sorry! Must have a 4.8 rating or higher without any no sends! 1 partner and 1 paper piecing per person! This is my 1st swap so please ask if you question something!

Have Fun!

Not being a scrapbooker, could you please explain what paper piecing is, please? Is it similar to collage?

RobinT 05/18/2007 #

This is right up my alley but I have one bad rating from someone that I feel rated me badly to be vindictive.

I'd love to participate if I could.

Paper piecing is basically taking a coloring page and making a pattern from it to use as an embellishment on a scrapbook page or card. What I usually do is copy the pattern and then cut it apart - next I trace the pattern pieces on to the correct color of cardstock that I want. From here you just glue and outline. I use wiggle eyes sometimes to add something extra. I will take some pictures and put them on! I have also added a link to help anyone out. It is a lot of fun and a great accomplishment when finished! Thanks - Treva2diva http://scrapbooking.about.com/od/freepatterns/FreePaperPiecing_Patterns.htm

I also edited the dates into next month so that maybe we could have more people in this swap.

Robin - I would love to have you in this swap! You have 27 hearts with a 4.9+ Rating! You are the SWAPPER Gal.

I'm a newbie, but I do have a questions. I have a cricut machine that I use to piece items together for my scrapbooking. Is this the same idea? Maybe you will have this again once I have a rating!

Tilly1218 06/ 8/2007 #

I'm not sure about using the cricut machine! I don't have one - but have friends who do. They seem to be a wonderful new item out there. If you can do a physical outline of something (animal or the like) and then layer it to include some definition - I would have to say yes you could use the cricut machine!

Can this be something more abstract rather than a character or doll?

Tilly1218 06/13/2007 #

Yes! I've done a flying carpet for a page for my Disney Book and the hand/wand from Epcot. Please don't limit yourself with just dolls or animals. I just thought that maybe it would be easier for some to start with those things! Thanks - hope to see you sign up.

Sending my envelope of paper piecing out tomorrow to Hunter and Dane's Mama. I hope you'll enjoy them.
