Description:

I used to LOVE to write poetry, but haven't done so in a very long time...which is what made me think of this idea... why not combine writing poetry with one of our notecard swaps? There will be a few prompts/subjects listed below, and you can choose whichever one you'd like to base your poem on. Your poem can be any style, can rhyme or not rhyme, whatever you'd like...the point is to get creative and have fun with it, and to share your poetry with others in our group.

For this swap, you will have 2 partners. Once you've written your poem, you will then copy it into 2 separate notecards, and then send it out to the 2 partners you are assigned. Or, if you'd rather write 2 separate poems, you are more than welcome to do that as well, but you don't have to write two...that's completely up to you.

If this swap is successful, I will host more like it, on a regular basis, in the future! So, for this round the poetry prompts are:

  • Friendship

  • Mothers ( shouldn't moms be celebrated more often? 8^D )

  • Weather

  • Flowers

  • Swap-Bot

I guess that 5 prompts/subjects/themes should be enough to get us thinking...Now let's get out creative juices flowing and have some fun! Happy writing!
