Sketch Game: Exquisite Corpse (2 of 3), US Only

Exquisite corpse is a drawing game where multiple people collaborate to create a character without being able to see each others work. It was invented by surrealists and results in very silly characters. How will this round work?

IF YOU WERE IN ROUND 1: 1. Don't look under the post-it note!

1. You will be drawing in the middle third of the paper. Using the edges of the lines from Round 1 as the edges of the character's shoulders, draw a torso for the character, starting at the shoulders and going down to the hips. Do not draw legs! Extend the edges of the hips slightly into the bottom third of the paper (think 1/8-1/4inch of line visible).

2. Now you can look under the round 1 post-it note, but don't peel it off. How's your character looking? :)

3. Add a post-it covering your drawing, so nothing is visible except the blank bottom third with the small hip lines.

4. Add your name, username, and date to the back of the sheet.

5. Send the folded drawing and the Round 1 self-addressed envelope along to your partner in another envelope.

IF YOU WERE NOT IN ROUND 1 (or you have not yet received your round 1 swap): 1. Fold a sheet of paper into thirds, like you would to mail a regular sized letter.

1. On the top third only, draw a character's head and shoulders. Make sure that the shoulders extend slightly into the middle section (think 1/8-1/4 inch of line), so it will be visible when the top is folded over. Take 5-10 minutes for this drawing.

2. When you finish, please stick a post-it note over your drawing, so your partner will not see it on accident!

3. On the back of the sheet, please write your name, username, the date, and "Sketch Game: Exquisite Corpse".

4. Stamp and self address an envelope, then put your folded drawing inside.

5. Put it in another envelope, and mail this to your partner!

So, what will happen in the next rounds? Another artists will add a to your character WITHOUT seeing what the others have added in advance! The third round person will send it back to the original artist, so they can see the character you created together! I will make accommodations in the next round for folks joining late. All 3 rounds are posted to join now!
