AIA: Waxed Teabag Image Transfers

Are you up for a new (to many of us!) mixed‑media technique? Start saving and drying those flow‑thru tea bags - we’re turning them into dreamy, translucent art pieces.

For this swap, you will create TWO waxed teabag image transfers for your partner. This technique blends collage, printmaking, and encaustic vibes into a small, tactile artwork that make great journal tuck ins.

Each piece should:

• Use a clean, dried tea bag (flow‑thru style works best)
• Have a successful image transfer (using matte medium); dried
• Be soaked in water to remove excess paper backing; dried
• Add a wax layer by melting wax over the surface (use candle shavings, paraffin, or purchased wax beads and melt between parchment paper or aluminum foil note: I find foil keeps your iron clean!)
• Be in a style of your choosing - vintage, botanical, mystical, abstract, whimsical, grunge - just keep it artistic and intentional.
