The first 2 rounds have been so much fun-let's do it again. We will be swapping shabby chic items... new, vintage, thrifted- the choice is yours. There are so many possibilities of what to send, but some examples are doilies, scarfs, fat quarters, fabric, pillowcases, tins, boxes, wall hangings, ornaments, figurines, ribbon.......handmade items welcome as well. This swap is shabby based so no special requests are allowed. We will each send our partner 3 shabby chic items.

fine print-US only, no newbies, must have a great rating.

Happy Shabby Swapping!

I was not involved in the past swaps of this description, so could you please elaborate on the theme? Is "shabby" a term for a certain style of art form? Not sure what you mean by "shabby"....or is it just something that is not "new"...(although, in the description it says "new, vintage, thrifted...)

Help!

Sorry for the lack of description, It is a shabby chic swap here is the def. from wikipedia- Shabby chic items are often heavily painted with many layers showing through obviously worn areas. The style is imitated in Faux Painting using glaze or by painting then rubbing and sanding away the top coat to show the wood or base coats. Fabrics tend to be cottons and linens, with linen being particularly popular, inspired by old French linens. Whites and worn or bleached out pastels are favorite colours. Fabric is often stained with tea to give it the look of old fabric. Bleached and faded are terms often applied to the style.

The essence of shabby chic style is vintage and antique furniture painted white (or another soft pastel color) and distressed at the corners by sanding.

Popular decor items are pillows made of vintage barkcloth fabric, vintage linens, chenille bedspreads, vintage chandeliers, and anything with roses on it. It is a soft, relaxed feminine romantic way of decorating that looks comfortable and inviting. Also called Cottage style. We obviously don't swap big items and furniture, but we follow the description of style for shabby chic. Also you can go to flickr and see tons of pics. I hope this helps.

How many swaps do you have to have under your belt to no longer be a newbie?
