Description:

This swap seemed pretty successful the first time, so let's give it another go!

All of us have to grocery shop or shop in general.

And all of us care about the environment and want to be good to our planet.

I'm sure most of us shop at grocery stores or department stores that have cloth/fabric/washable plastic type bags that can carry our goodies home.

Some of them are really neat, colorful or cute, and some just have the store's logo on and just are made of durable materials.

This swap is a 1 for 1. You'll have 1 partner and will purchase 1 recyclable/reusable grocery or department bag/sack at your local grocery/department store and swap it.

Buy one that's as nice as one that you'd like to receive in return. Most bags cost anywhere from .99 to $1.49 here in the US. So, if you're overseas, try to find a bag that's the rough equivalent in price.

Newbies with fully fleshed out profiles and that have at least 5 mail swaps under their belts are invited to join. However, please be forewarned that flakers will NOT be tolerated and exposed anywhere I can think of exposing them.

Come on, we all like getting something special in the mail!! It's only a kind, simple act to reciprocate, and it doesn't require a lot of effort to do so. Don't flake!

Aw it's too bad you require them to be bought. I make all of mine from recycled materials. Old sheets, curtains, pillow cases, fabric I would kids would never wear lol. But they are all cute and the pattern I use is from http://www.greenbaglady.blogspot.com/ She's a wonderful lady and is all over the world now. If you ever do a recycled one please let me know.

I'm very interested but new to the site. I have the perfect bag in mind. I also make woven shopping bags from plastic bags, I would be interested in a swap as suggested above too. Please contact me.

Can a postcard swap count towards the 5 mail swap requirement?

Polymath 09/20/2009 #

Yes...I am excluding email swaps from that requirement. A mail swap means you actually had to make some kind of effort to return an item to a partner. At least it does in my opinion...

Oh great :) Count me in then!
