Have you ever seen those pretty banners all covered with glitter and ribbon and pretty little things? You know the ones - with cutsie inspirational words like "HOPE" or "DREAM," or "CREATE?" I've seen a ton of them, and while I admire the shit out of the banner itself as part of the decor, I somehow just can't seem to bring myself to latch onto the inspirational word it is showcasing. And, since the DC is known for the um, er, outspokeness of its members, I thought this would be the perfect way to showcase our verbal talents. Well, for this swap you are going to create the cutsie banner part, but the word is going to be a rude one! Your favorite curse or swear word, or other rude and obnoxious saying of which you are fond or that you may be noted for using. Here are the nuts and bolts of the swap: The banner should be made of a series of individual pennants, ovals, circles or other shapes strung together, and it must be at least three feet long (that can include hangers on the ends, ribbons, etc.) Look Here for IdeasThe individual pennants can spell out a single word or each one could have a word on it. The banner needs to have some way of being hung up, and it should include lots of embellishments and be decorative. It can be any medium you like, or it can be mixed media. If you wish, you may visit your partner's profile and read about likes or dislikes if you want to tailor it to their personal style, but that is not a requirement. Again, make it so pretty and sweet according to your style of work; Victorian, altered, Shabby Chic, whatever, as long as the saying is in direct contrast to the appearance of the banner. Remember that this is the DC, so no censuring! And no Flakers! Flakers will be strung up and displayed on their own special banner wearing the DC Asshat! |
