Can you keep your out-of-pocket costs under $10 for a magic yarn ball? Let's see what you can do!

The rules are basic - using your partner's preferences/dislikes, wrap a number of small items into a skein of yarn, resulting in one big, weird-looking ball of yarn! You may use anything you already own and not count the cost (so if you paid $7 for that skein last month - fine - but you don't have to count it toward your $10). It is only things that you purposefully buy for this swap that count. Re-gift! Make things! Thrift store shop! Whatever it takes, don't go over $10.
