European swappers – to assure language variety If you like to look at advertisements in print media from an artistic & cultural point of view, not just as a shopper, you will like this swap. For this swap you will need to send 2 DIFFERENT ADVERTISEMENTS CUT-OUT FROM A MAGAZINE OR A NEWSPAPER TO 1 SWAP PARTNER ALONG WITH A BRIEF. Please note: 1.) Cut-out 2 different advertisements (the ones you like best) from print media (published in magazines, brochures, newspapers etc). Don’t just scan and print-out from the web. 2.) Choose advertisements related to products/ services/ corporate/ public etc. from your country and not global/multinational brands. That is what will make it interesting for people living in another country. 3.) Write a brief summary what the advertisements are about (if not obvious from the ads) – for example translate (unless you are from UK, Ireland) the copywriting, the slogan, the headline, the dialogue between the characters etc., maybe explain the backgrounds/story behind the writing if necessary, so the swap-partner from another country can understand it better from a cultural point of view; maybe a comment why you picked those ads, what you like about them. If you handwrite, please make sure your writing is legible. 4.) Advertisement: motif, size, product/service etc. in it = sender’s choice (please do your best not to get over the line by sending offensive ads that might hurt a certain community’s feelings). Swappers will have 2 weeks to complete the swap after partners are assigned. Please consider send date or else pm your swap partner.
