Description:

What do you love to make? What are you good at making? Some times I find myself so busy making things for others' preferences that I have no time to enjoy doing my favorite crafts. The idea of this swap is to spend time doing something you really enjoy.

So...make something you are good at and/or enjoy making. Due to the theme, there will be no preferences listed. What you get is what you get. If you don't like what you get, there are always Regifting swaps, and Christmas is coming up :>

I ask that you spend at least a couple of hours making your item(s). Preferably 3 or 4. Make something nice. You will be rated not on how much your partner likes the item, but on how well it was made, time and effort put into it, etc.

Ratings 4.7 and above please, and I will be checking ratings right after the sign up date.

Since you can start making your item right away (I like this part!) I am leaving a long sign up period and a shorter period in between that and sending time.

I reserve the right to ban anyone from this swap.

Any questions, please ask.

What do people plan on making?

Just trying to get a little discussion going.

Is this international or?

I guess so.

I'd really like to join but i'm unsure what sort of thing to make. I mean, i could spend 3 or 4 hours making something and it might not be very large but somebody else might be able to run up amazing huge thing that blows your mind! I'm not being very articulate here, but what i'm basically trying to say is, do you have any examples of the sort of thing you imagine people making, please? :)

I am a paper artist, so I will be making cards. It will likely be many different sizes. I may throw in a mini book, shrine, etc.

Alice-palace - don't be afraid. You know what it takes to work on a project for a couple hours. What ever it is, will be fine. On crafsters, all the swaps are based on time...time it takes to create your project.

Alice, things like Yooper said. Or like a small doll, an altered book, a deco. It doesn't have to be large. Or if you're a paper artist, like Yooper, you can make a few smaller things.

Okaay. Cool. The only reason i'm a little worried is that i've received stuff in swaps that's been so very very variable - from things that are just amazing and look like something would take me a really, really long time, to stuff that, erm, doesn't look like quite as much effort had been applied... So basically i think people's expectations vary quite significantly on this site! But yeah, i'll join and hope that i don't disappoint my partner. :)

Oh this may be just the art therapy I've been needing. I used to paint paper mache boxes with ornate knotwork designs, they took a bit of time and effort, but turned out Beautiful. I've been thinking of painting like that again, but just haven't had enough inspiration and desire to actually do it again. Wow and to make something that I like, something I'm know I'm good at, and not just worring about how to make something really special for someone I don't really know.

All of the suggested ideas are great.

Alice, I know that's a complication, and that's why I emphasize rating on effort, not necessarily whether you like the item or not. Hopefully people will be fair.

If that makes any sense!

stacirose 09/14/2007 #

I love doing a ton of different things...I'll probably take a look at my partner's profile anyway. :)

cerwinrhiannon 09/14/2007 #

I like to do beading, but not jewelry.

rengawk 09/17/2007 #

I'll appreciate whatever my partner makes! I enjoy making crochet critters that most of my partners seem to also enjoy ^^

stacirose 09/20/2007 #

I LOVE Christel's work! And, she rocks.
