Hello there! Anyone at Bible Study group is welcome to jump in the series of swaps for this study - This is a study on the book of "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer. Please read chapters 5-6 (Be Positive & Mind-Binding Spirits). Read the scripture below before answering questions: Chapter 5 1. Read Matthew 8:13 Explain the efftect of positive and negative thoughts on the lives of people. 2. Read Romans 8:28; 12:16 A. Does the Bible say that all things are good? B. How are we to react when our plans don't work out? 3. Read 2 Corinthians 5:17 Many of us have had bad things happen to us, things which cause us to be negative about the future. According to this verse, how should we react to such situations? 4. Read John 16:7,8, Philippians 1:6 A. Why did Jesus say it was "profitable" for us that He go away? B. What does Jesus teach us that the Holy Spirit will do for us? C. What does the Bible say about the work God has begun in us? You may not be able to resist the sin of speaking negatively, but when you do, ask God to help you. Speaking negatively about yourself will hinder the good things God has for you. 5. Read Acts 17:11 KJV How can we achieve balance in our thinking? 6. Read Romans 4:18-20; Hebrews 6:19 Being positive does not mean that we are to ignore the obvious. How do we deal with impossible situations without losing hope? 7. Read Isaiah 30:18; Proverbs 15:15 What is God's desire toward us as reflected in these passages? What do we need to do to receive His will for us? 8. Read 1 Peter 3:10 What does this verse say we must do if we want to enjoy life and see good days? Chapter 6 1. Read Philippians 4:6,7 KJV How can we experience the peace of God? 2. Read John 8:31,32; Psalm 107:20 How can we overcome "mind-binding spirits"? 3. Read Romans 8:26, James 1:2-8 A. As Christians, why must we decide to believe? How can we believe during times when our minds don't understand everything? B. What should we do when we are going through trials? Optional questions: Is there anything that you have read that you think is not consistent with scripture? / Is there anything you read that you don't understand? You will have one week to read the 2 chapters and send your answers to your partners. Partners will depend on how many sign up, but for now I will put it to 4, and if more sign up I will up the partners! Please let me know if you have any questions. |
