When you finally tasted Turkish Delight for the first time, did you think of Edmund Pevensie and how its powerful enchantment caused him to betray his family? There are many specific foods associated with children's books, and you've probably at least wondered what butter beer tastes like, or whether a blackbird pie really is just as a good as a chicken one. For this swap, you will mail your partner a recipe inspired by a children's book. Try to make it something very specific and recognizable to the book you've chosen such as raspberry cordial...but if you have a killer pancake recipe you're dying to share because you love If You Give a Pig a Pancake, feel free to do that instead! The recipes can either be ones you've adapted from a cookbook (please credit source if so) or original ones you've concocted on your own. Please print or neatly handwrite the recipe onto a recipe card, full letter page, cardstock, etc. and mail it to your partner. You will also enclose a short note explaining why you chose the recipe and how you came up with it (or found it). All dishes are more delectable if you know the story behind how it came to be. This exchange is open to all members in good standing. Please remember to rate your partner promptly upon receipt! |
