Weekly Journal Prompt: Autumn is coming

Deep breath...and we’re off.

For this swap, you will create a journal page using the provided prompt. It can be an art page, a written page, or whatever combination you wish, but it should use an entire composition book size page of 7.5" x 9.75" (19 cm x 24,7 cm) with enough margin to allow a partner to mount the page into their own journals--1/4" (1/2 cm) or so margins. Use only one side of the page. Fold to send or not is up to sender, but to keep the postage reasonable, participants should expect folded pages.

This will be a weekly swap. I will post late in the week, but no later than Saturday, deadline the following Friday, assign on Saturday or Sunday, and you must send by the following Tuesday. This first swap will have a longer sign up deadline and send date, but after this it'll be a pretty quick turn around. You can start your journal page when you sign up.

I will angel this swap.

Newbies welcome, this is a good way to get started journaling, but no unsatisfactorily explained ones or threes, or no-send comments.

This is an international swap. Considering that international senders will regularly be paying international postage, be prepared to pony up for the occasional international postage. If you are assigned an international partner and really, truly, can’t afford the postage, PM me and we’ll work something out.

THIS SWAP WAS EDITED TO CHANGE THE PAGE SIZE FROM NOTEBOOK TO COMPOSITION SIZE PAGES!

I've reconsidered, since I use mostly composition books for more permanent journaling (less page loss than a spiral, especially since they've started perforating the pages for easy removal)

Would this be more attractive if I changed the page size so that it would fit in a composition book?

What size is a composition book (I am Swedish and I use the metric system....)

smilinthyme 09/12/2010 #

What I mean is that I might not find that size of book here but that is ok, as long as I know what size to make the journal pages...

I'm going to edit as I think a composition book size page will be more flexible over the long term.

i am really in the dark about the composition book size. is that what you would call an exercise book? not A4 size ( A4 size is the size of paper mostly used in the printer of the computer or fits in the lever arched folders) i am worried my efforts might be too big or too small but I want to join the swap. and if you are using it composition book size is it going to be blank paper or have lines on it? i am a bit confused because i really want to join the swap. help?????

Is that the size of a regular white sheet used in most copy machines?

A composition book has pages 7.5" x 9.75" (19 cm x 24,7 cm). Lined or unlined--up to you.

My thought process is such that anyone participating in this swap weekly will begin accumulating pages and want to do something with them. Personally, I prefer composition books because they are sturdier (imo) than spiral notebooks.

Just leave a margins-- 1/4" (1/2 cm) or so, so that partners could trim the edges if necessary for mounting into an altered journal or such.
