Hello there! Anyone at Bible Study group is welcome to jump in the series of swaps for this study - This is a study on the book of "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer. Please read chapters 9-10 (A wandering, wondering Mind, and A Confused Mind). Read the scripture below before answering questions: Chapter 9 1. Read 1 Peter 1:13 KJV A. What does an inability to concentrate indicate? B. What are some of the causes of an inability to concentrate? 2. Read Ecclesiastes 5:1 A. What does the expression "keep your foot" mean? What is it a warning against? B. Give an example from your own life of a wandering mind. C. How do you correct a wandering mind? 3. Read Mark 11:23,24 What is wrong with wondering? Chapter 10 1. Read James 1:5-8 Why are wondering, doubt and confusion undesirable activities for us as Christians? 2. Read Matthew 16:8 KJV A. Why are a large percentage of God's people admittedly confused? B. What is "reasoning" and why shouldn't we rely on reasoning when God directs us to do something? 3. Read 1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV A. What is the Christian alternative to reasoning in the mind? B. Give an example from your own life of a struggle between the carnal mind and the spiritual man. 4. Read James 1:22 What are we to do when God speaks to us? 5. Read Proverbs 3:5; Romans 9:1 A. Why is excessive reasoning dangerous? B. How did Paul know he was doing the right thing and not relying on his own reasoning? 6. Read 1 Corinthians 2:1,2 What was Paul's approach to reasoning and why is it a good example for us today? Optional questions: Is there anything that you have read that you think is not consistent with scripture? / Is there anything you read that you don't understand? You will have one week to read the 2 chapters and send your answers to your partners.
