Description:

What Is Iris Folding? Iris folding is a fun and easy paper folding technique that can be used to make greeting cards, on scrapbook pages, or designs can be framed and hung on a wall. The texture and depth that you feel when handling an iris folded greeting card or scrapbook page is the best part. The online photos can't possibly duplicate this.

Iris folding is very versatile in that any type of easy to fold paper can be used. Left over Christmas wrapping paper works great!

Traditional Iris Folding: The technique originated in Holland and it is called iris folding because the center of the design resembles the iris of a camera or eye. Traditionally, origami paper is used for the main design and holographic paper is used to fill in the center of the design.

Getting Started: This website has an amazing tutorial, lots of patterns you can use and even a video. Click here --> Iris Folding .
What you will do: You will send one Iris Folded project to one partner. Choose any of the free patterns you would like to try. I recommend the heart, snail, balloon, or the four leaf clover. These are very simple/basic patterns. However, you can do any pattern you choose. Put a cardstock back on your design when complete. Place in envelope and send off 

Just finished my 1st one and I am hooked. I love it and plan on trying out all the patterns. Thanks for a great swap.

I've heard of this technique but have never tried it. I just watched a YouTube video and am ready to give it a try. Hope all goes well.

Like @DeniseN10ec I tried one, two, and three, and I'm hooked too. In fact, I'm going to order a book I found online. My husband even thinks they're cool.

Awesome news....i just 'iris folded' an ATC. It's a tad more difficult because of the small size....but totally possible :) I love iris folding :)

I also did some ATC's and they look decent. I found a place you can take your pattern and shrink it to a ATC size with a little playing around and that helped out a lot and thought I would share the link http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ .
