Description:

For this swap you will keep a journal during the holiday season (starting November 22nd, 2007 [USA Thanksgiving] and ending January 1, 2008 [New Year's]). I know that the holidays are a busy time, so you don't have to write an entry for every day, but you should write at least four entries a week. Talk about your holiday traditions, share recipes, discuss what you'd like to get for Christmas, recall favorite childhood memories, describe what the neighborhood light displays look like, whatever you'd like! Feel free to add pictures or decorate as you see fit. Please use a nice journal for this swap, no cheap spiral bound notebooks - send something you would like to receive yourself.

You will keep ONE journal and receive ONE journal.

Please be respectful of other religions. I'm not saying that you can't talk about your church or spiritual group, but no "anyone who doesn't believe exactly as I do is wrong" stuff or trying to convert others to your religion.

This swap is international, so keep that in mind when selecting your journal.

To participate in the swap, you must have at least a 4.8 rating with NO no-sends. If you believe that you were rated unfairly, please message me so we can work out the details. You must have participated in at least THREE "through the mail" swaps. Sorry, no newbies. There's plenty of time to take part in some quick swaps to get rated. :)

Because of the nature of the swap I can't angel it. However, I will ban anyone who seems suspicious or doesn't meet the swap requirements.

Does it matter what size journal?

savannah 10/19/2007 #

Any size of journal is fine, as long as it's big enough for everything you want to put in it! :)

I really like working with spiral bound journals because you can lay them flat while you are sponging, painting, stamping, and mounting items in them, and they can stay open while they dry. Would you be opposed to the use of a spiral journal that has blank pages made out of heavyweight art/watercolor paper in it?

savannah 10/26/2007 #

Scarlet, that would be fine! I was meaning the cheap composition notebooks you find in the school supply section, if that makes any sense - quality books that have a spiral in them are fine. :)

So cute! I am a newbie, so I can't do this, but I have to say this is a super idea!

I'm too new to join, but please let me know when you hold another one.

Hi Savannah!

I haven't received a partner yet. When will I know who my partner is for this swap? Thank you! VintageArtChic

We don't have to write only about the holidays right? I'm pretty much treating this as a normal journal (besides the fact that I'm decorating it more and that sort of thing) and talking about everything that is going on right now. This is ok?

CayleighTheShell 12/ 3/2007 #

I just wanted to clarify that I am talking about my holidays and such as well.

Completed and mailed this morning. Mailed it one day early because my partner lives in Holland and it will take 5-10 days to get there from the Midwestern United States. But I am still reeling in shock-it cost me over $12 to mail it. No more International Journal Swaps-I can't afford the postage. I did very much enjoy working on the project and hope my partner enjoys the journal I created.
