Description:

How do you catch a fairy? There are lots of tricks, but if you are lucky enough to catch one of these magical tiny creatures, make a cute home for it in a jar. Captured Jar Fairies/Vignettes can be made from a variety of images and materials, but make sure it has a lid, so she doesn't escape!

FUN STUFF: Alter a jar (glass or plastic) to make a fantasy home for your little fairy. The jar size is sender's choice, but should not be smaller than a baby food jar and the lid should be decorated as well. The theme is sender's choice for one partner.

NOT SO FUN STUFF: The vignette should represent a tiny wonderland where you captured your fairy or where you think she might live. Send your best work in a timely manner and please rate promptly.

Oh, what fun! My fairy habitat will be "ajar" - certainly I respect her free spirit. If I create magic, of course she'll stay. Thanks, luleeemik, for this fantastic idea!

How cute! I'm still trying to catch my fairy...lol! I'm planning on creating a wonderland for her, so I hope she'll want to stay and be my muse.

This will be my first captured fairy, but I've been trying to capture one since I was a small child. Really! I can remember my cousin and I going "fairy hunting" in the cattails that grew near my house...=)

I've never made one but I'll give it a try. How do you get your fairies to stand upright in your jar and stay for shipping?

sorry, I haven't checked in here for awhile:( I make sure my fairy is on heavy cardstock and she stands up quite well with a dab of hot glue...she is kind of propped up by the vignette. You can also use a tab on her to glue to the bottom...just be careful. That hot glue leaves some nasty burns.

This is going to be a fun swap...I think we need to do a cottage for her to live in next...{{rushes out to the craft store....}}
