Let's see....I enjoy, Baking. Mostly desserts,( I have a really bad sweet tooth), but I also love baking bread and have been trying to make all of our own sandwich bread every week.
Crafting. Of allll sorts, I don't know if any type of craft doesn't interest me, some that I enjoy are paper crafts, knitting, sewing and I have been teaching myself crochet. I need to allow myself to paint and draw more. I need to get some more wool to needle felt again.
Gardening. I love growing herbs of all kinds. Tomatoes, pumpkins, beans and peas, tomatillos etc etc. This summer will be my 3rd year with a garden of my own and boy do I learn a lot each year. There is always a new pest to deal with and it can be daunting when trying to garden with only organic means.
Holidays. My whole life i have used each coming holiday to get me through the week, does that make sense? I either plan little parties, or plan a special meal or try to craft a new decoration. I especially love retro and Victorian holiday decorations.
Humor. I love things that make me laugh. I prefer a comedy any day over any other genre. Seinfeld-my absolute fav- reruns get recorded to my DVR everyday just so I always have a large amount to watch as I please.
I love tea, and when I want to feel really cool I have a coffee. I love antique shops, thrifting and yard sales.
Gnomes, fairies, wee-folk, forest critters ( all critters!) Insects and bugs, I am a new beekeeper!😊
I am trying to become better at understanding my camera so that the pictures I take better represent what i want to convey.
I have always LOVED small, mini and cute things. I have always wanted to make a dollhouse just so I could create all the miniature little things for the inside.
I love "Kawaii" I also have a new and strong fascination with Japan and Japanese culture. (Although I don't really care for anime) oh my goodness Gudetama??? Yes please!!! At some point I would love to do a swap for japanese snacks or Daiso type items :)
I collect WAY too many things. I love colorful "usa" pottery, planters and vases from thrift stores, jadeite, Fiesta ware, diner style ceramics and the like. I have a large collection of vintage tablecloths that I use all the time, I even used them on the tables at my wedding. Apparently I collect tea because my cabinet is overflowing with boxes. When does collecting turn into hoarding? Hahah
I like all-natural and organic whenever possible and within reason, and don't use that many popular brands of cosmetics or bath, body or cleaning products. I try to make my own whenever I can!
Speaking of which, I LOVE diy and miy. I love trying to replicate packaged foods at home, making all-natural versions of favorite snacks, and finding great copy-cat recipes for restaurant foods. I need to finally take the leap and try to can some foods for the first time. Sometimes I feel like I am an old soul, and at the same time i also feel like im a kid at heart. It's bananas.
I would love to make some wall art for my home, and I think a display of beautiful stamps would be wonderful. If you have any used stamps that have very colorful things like, flowers, insects, HONEY BEES, birds or unusual things like foods, colorful vintage commemorative scenes or anything, and you have no use for them feel free to send 'em my way!
I dont want to be negative but I guess if I have to put a few dislikes I guess I would say..
Disney Princess stuff, Mickey/Mini mouse
The mustache thing
Zombies
Anime
I do not adhere to one religion. I consider myself to be spiritual and appreciate (in real life too!) When I am not evangelised or preached to. I know what I believe and am already happy, but that said, if there is a creation or craft you make that is religious and it truly makes you happy, I don't mind at all that you share that with me since it is coming from a place of love. :)
After some reading I think I'd prefer if the swap name was NOT put on the outside of any envelope or package, but rather be inside :) but decorate it all you want, I just like anonymity.
...oh, the auto spelling correction on my tablet is rediculous, many weird words probably slipped in!
What else?...
** I am really happy to have discovered swap and snail-mail communities, because sending and receiving mail has always been a joy for me. Every day I get little butterflies when the mail comes, ( even though, as of right now it's usually just flyers and bills hopefully that can change soon!) **
