Greetings, from South Carolina, Hardeeville to be exact. I am Octavia, a retired Philadelphia School Administrator. After my retirement, I decided to enjoy using my creative talents. With that being said I love paper, specifically making greeting cards, tags, gift bags, to name a few. I have taken water paint classes, quilting, and this fall I'll be taking a sewing class to improve my skills. I love to decorate and enjoy wedding planning and all that goes with it. I can decorate a party with almost anything.

MUSIC I enjoy most music, gospel being my favorite. I've sung in many choirs which I really enjoy. My musical goal is to play the piano, I purchased beautiful black lacquer piano as my retirement gift to myself. Needless to say I'm still working on it.

READING Reading is also one of my favorite past times. Each evening before retiring, I read something. Specifically I enjoy historical fiction and biographies. , although I will read what seems interesting. There are a many community newspapers and magazines in my area so I bring home lots of little newspapers. The articles are usually interesting mostly about area activities, groups or up coming special events. I do not like scary stories, erotica or those with killing and the like. Just think it too much in real life to read about it for enjoyment.

TELEVISION

My favorite TV shows are Project Runway, I love to see what they design and make. The Midwives, because the story of women and medicine is very interesting. I enjoy most shows that have something to do with being creative. From time to time I get stuck on cooking shows, my husband and I are cooks. Daughter in Love is a chef, so our cooking game has to be strong! I do not like shooting, killing,blood, cursing, or extreme sexual content in shows. With that being said, I watch very little tv.

WHAT I LIKE

My favorite color is red, although I do not own a lot of red, my other favorites are orange, yellow, aqua, some greens, and brown. I love paper, did I say I love paper, I love paper. I make greeting cards, books and other paper items. I sew, just learned how to quilt, ( not that good) but at least my lines are straight. I've been knitting for years, just really got back to it in the last 5 years. I like to make little items, those that can be made in a day or two. Mostly items for children. This year my goal is to make a sweater for me. I can fruits and veggies and I have a small garden.

I've been a vegetarian for over 40 years, so no meat products please! I read all labels, I don't use any thing that has animal products, soap, toothpaste, lotion etc. I started this journey in college and never looked back.
