A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I never "flake" on a swap as you can tell from my feedback. If you don't receive something from me, please let me know. Something is wrong, and I will resend!
I am a retired (due to physical injuries) Sign Language Interpreter/Interpreting Professor. I miss Interpreting and teaching sometimes, but NOT commuting in Idaho winters. It turns out that retirement is actually pretty fun! I love having time to binge Netflix, create crafty things, and enjoy Nature!
MARRIED LIFE! My former marriage (we married young and realized after 25 years we are better as friends than spouses) blessed me with two daughters, and four grandchildren: two boys and two girls. Interesting fun fact: My oldest daughter delivered her second son with her ten year old son attending. QUITE a surprise! They all have a very special bond.
This newer relationship isn't really very new! 😊 We met online before that was "cool". I traveled from Idaho to South Carolina to meet him and his family. He then moved to Idaho to be with me! We've been together since 1999, married since 2006, and are totally "smitten"! A Miniature Schnauzer, Oliver, and long haired black cat, Sassy, are our fur-buddies!
SPIRITUAL LIFE: I am not religious in the traditional sense, having left organized religion after a long struggle to fit in. I DO believe, difficult to describe, but there is a Spiritual Presence in all living things. I don't like to label things, but if people ask, I say I'm an eclectic pagan. I love to celebrate the sentiments surrounding all the holidays!
FAMILY: I'm half Norwegian, and enjoy learning about Norway, Norse Mythology, and Norwegian Culture. I'm armchair traveling right now, but we would love to go there someday! Our family genealogy includes, Harald Harfager and King Olaf.
GETTING CRAFTY! I love to create jewelry, and altered art, especially altered dominoes, poker chips, and large match boxes, and enjoy using mixed media. I also love to crochet, simple patterns so far.
CRAFTS and KITS I'D LOVE TO EXPLORE: Counted cross stitch, knitting, crochet, origami, small "paint with diamonds," building a model: fantasy, imagination, fairy garden etc., ...and needle felting.
THINGS I'D LOVE TO SEE IN A SWAP:
Flat items:
Forever stamps! A card of Washi tape samples, 1" x 2" images to use to create altered dominoes. Images/stickers I love include fairies, steampunk,
House Mouse, the moon, hummingbirds, ravens/crows, dragonflies, hedgehogs, tree frogs, Halloween ALL year, Christmas (non religious), Goddesses, Nature!
FOR LARGER SWAPS: I am a candy 🍬 addict! I love little bits included in swaps! My favorites: Trolli Sours or Sour Patch Kids, Dots, Swedish Fish, Reisen!!! Warm cozy socks that come well above my ankle so they don't slip down off the heel, and have grips on the bottom cuz I'm clumsy in the kitchen. 😊 Kitchen cloths and towels in reds, or dark blues. A small gift card to almost anywhere, but especially Starbucks! I also need erasable pens that write smoothly, mechanical pencils, and sharpies! 💜
PLEASE NO: Religious, unless it relates to Nature.
SWAPPING: Some I've done: Fancy fold card swaps, altered mason jar, altered matcbox, altered paint brush, altered domino and poker chip, altered spoon; 4x6 memory boards, ATCs, mini-pocket and pocket letters, prayer flags, and others.
I am excited to be here! PLEASE let me know if you don't receive a swap from me in a timely manner. I always mail early or on time, so if a swap doesn't arrive something has gone wrong and I will resend!
HAPPY SWAPPING!
