March 2015 -- I am taking a break from swap-bot for the next 6 months; many responsibilities have aligned to create "the perfect storm", not unpleasant for sure, but enough so that they are tugging on my sleeve! I will be back when the gods are assuaged :-) I already miss you all!
I am a Nanny (grandmum) to 2 adorable boys. Who knew that being a grandparent could be so rewarding and exciting ~ perhaps I should have had them first?? ;-)
.
The Pacific Ocean born and raised on Canada's West coast - love it, miss it! When I was in Queensland Australia it gave me goosebumps to be on the "other" side of the pond and seeing it from the EAST rather than the WEST!
Reading: Recent books are The Book Thief, The Dog Who Danced, Dream With Little Angels, Eyes Wide Open ...... the ultimate escape! A favourite Canadian author is Linwood Barclay Once you read one you will want to read them all!
POSTCARDS My most recent endeavour is collect the 50 US states mapcards. Canada sadly doesn't really get into that
Yes I do love postcards but prefer them without the postal peeps getting their mitts on them! So if you can, and the swap allows for it, please send mine in an envelope? Thanks!
I also love:
birds especially owls, eagles, cardinals, orioles and Canada Geese
map postcards
all nature, but especially mountains
wild life, big cats, bears, moose
my planner! and now Midori!
anything Jetoy !
domesticated kitties
paper goods: envelopes, notecards, Cavallini paper goods and stickers, amazing pens, labels, onion-skin paper, tags, cool notecards, postage, airmail stuff
Please don't send
FYI:
I NEVER flake. In fact I usually get my swap off to you within 48 hours after a swap is assigned providing that Canada Post /Postes Canada is co-operative :-) Be aware: the post office can mess up; apparently the huge hike in postal rates doesn't make them smarter or more service-minded!
.....I rate on the very day I get your swap in my hot little hands, from the postie to me! ....well usually my husband gets the mail, because for some oddball reason he thinks HE'S IN CHARGE OF MAIL! He's retired; I think he needs a hobby!!!!.......or, as one of my swap partners suggested getting the mail IS his hobby ;-)
As a sometime swap-host and co-ordinator I love creating ideas for swappers and enjoy the enthusiasm which so many of you display! I assign on the day of the swap and if there are any issues about ratings I message a wannabe-swapper and will delay assigning until I hear back
I just want to remind all of you wonderful folks who swap with me that I take my swaps to heart and love what you send, as much as I like sending to you. So when you send a swap, do say a few words about yourself - it's about friendship and swapmanship (if that's a word!) So let's not snarl at one another. Treat one another with kindness -- I have found it goes a long way :-) XXX OOO
I don't believe in listing flakers on my profile; they know who they are. (Of course they do!)
So I want to say how grateful I am for the swappers who have made my mail-days and have sent wonderful pieces of mail to open and enjoy after a workday. You're the best!
