I am a married mother of two teens. My oldest is going to university this September and my youngest is starting grade 11. We live in the city just west of Toronto, Ontario. My husband is a programmer and I work in the non-profit sector. My mother lives 5 minutes walk away and my grandmother is 95 and lives a 10 minute drive away.
We have a Corgi dog and a cat. They are both silly! We also have 4 neighbour cats coming to our door looking attention and treats.
I am one of those people who is always 5 minutes early to things so I try to mail my packages before the stated deadlines. If it is sent right on the deadline, you will know something has come up (illness, snowstorm, etc...) but be assured, you WILL receive your swap.
I am an old-school girl. As a kid I loved Anne of Green Gables and Little House on the Prairie. I am drawn to home made things, antiques, living history museums, and so forth. I love "home arts" such as baking, needlecrafts, gardening, etc... Some of the things I try are a little hit or miss - I am a crappy sewer, but I love working on a project and coming up with something usable at the end. I find the new ideas in "green/eco" are modelled after some of the older ideas (slow food, slow clothes, etc...) which is exciting as I am finding a lot of new uses for the old things I like. :-) But living with a programmer and a teenager who is into manga and anime, I can whoop your but in Mario Cart - make no mistake! ;-)
I like to read British romance novels, Sue Grafton mysteries and Philippa Gregory novels.
Right now I am reading "U is for Undertow" by Sue Grafton. But I have a pile of books waiting for me on my bedside table.
So why do I keep taking book out of the library...?
I haven't been getting out to the movies much lately so I have been watching old movies - Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, etc... I LOVE the Thin Man movies and watch the whole lot of them once a year. I also love modern classics (When Harry Met Sally, Field of Dreams,etc...)
I watch too much television. :-)
I LOVE CORONATION STREET!
I am making my way through the last season of Adam-12.
I like to knit and crochet, I like to do needlework projects (cross stitch, etc...) and I am always trying new crafts. Right now I am knitting some wool socks.
I am working on my family tree using Ancestry and I am really enjoying that. I have a large stamp collection that I never have time to work on.
I love most tea! And I love most teas but I have to be careful about caffeine. However... I would prefer to have a tea that you like and already have on your shelf as I think it's a little more personal. It tells me something about you and your likes or dislikes. This is the same for chocolates and sweets.
I have a dog and a cat so no worries there but I do have an allergy to lillies. They are gorgeous but wow! They make me sneeze! Just to be on the safe side, if you find you are in a swap with me that involves a smelly item, best to stick to fruity smells like citrus, berries, bananas, etc...
My absolute favourite colour is robins egg blue but I know it
s hard to find. I also like red and yellow and soft green.

Hello!
I'd just like to ask...
How do you pronounce Joelle? Is it like "jo-wel?" or "jo-wel-li"? I'm curious.. hihi
Thanks!
I mentioned sleeping too - even before I read your letter! - but he wasn't buying it. My son doesn't even read anime! But our opinions are the ones that count, right?
By the way, my son made a similar comment to your daughter (about the X eyes). "That's a great envelope, but why are those fish dead?" I pointed out that they were still breathing (?) bubbles, so were clearly alive :^)
hello!
unfortunately, your d.c. will be a bit late: got it mailed back to me by mistake, so re-sent yesterday ... meantime, please enjoy your weekend!
