My Flicker Photos has my ATCs, all are made with a hand carved rubber stamp.
I am a married working Mom of 5, only the last one is still in the nest :) She will be a senior next year, then off to college. We love the outdoors: working in the yard, camping, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, going to the beach, photography, and traveling in general.
Our pets include 2 dogs, 3 cats and a rabbit. The rabbit is the youngest, he's 9 years old.
I am definetly not a "girly-girl", I grew up as more of a tomboy type.
I like things that are "nostalgic" or antiqued, rubber stamping, travel related, postal art, Disney, geometric patterns, journals, textural stuff, cookbooks, postage stamps and postcards.
I have been carving my own rubber stamps for about 4 years, while I am not as good as alot of folks, I am usually pretty satisfied with my work. I like to use them to make ATC's, in my journals, on personnal mail, wherever else needs it.
I love trying lots of different things, especially the newest trends. I like paper crafts the most, rubber stamping, carving my own rubber stamps, scrapbooking, making ATCs and LTCs. I'm liking "Grunge" more and more (not the skulls and crossbones/ crosses, more of the techniques and applications, colors and textures). Many years ago I used to crochet with my Mom and Grandma, I'd like to get back into it, someday. I tend to get all of my craft supplies from Michael;s and Joanne Fabrics. I'm going to "try" to make some crocheted amirgurumi animals :)
I don't really like TV too much, the amount of commercial time drives me crazy! I like the idea of some of the reality shows, but lose interest if I see too much "scripting". I watch some of the cooking and DIY shows, including Top Chef. Sometimes when I am down about my life, I'll watch those "Real Housewives from XXXX" shows or "Wife Swap" and I feel better instantly about my own family :) I still watch the old sitcom re-runs like: - The Andy Griffith Show - I Love Lucy - Everybody Loves Raymond - King of Queens - Becker - Green Acres
I love movies, but not paying the price for theatres. I prefer to watch them at home where I can stop them when I need, and don't have to deal with people talking throughout, texting, kicking my seat, etc. My favorite genre is Drama, with great character developement and story lines. A few of my favorites:
Second Hand Lions. The Green Mile. Thelma and Louise. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
I also love Alfred Hitchcock, war movies, Disney, Pixar, and movies from exotic locations.
I like to read, just never seem to be able to get to the end :) I mostly collect cookbooks, do-it-yourself books, old books with nice illustrations :) I am really interested in altered books, and have some supplies, I just haven't gotten very far with it. I really love the hardback teaching books for children. they have really cool vintage drawingds.
I like almost all music, especially rock ( 80's :), pop, and Christian rock. I'll also listen too country, blues, cajun, oldies, and easy listening. I'm just not real crazy about rap, especially the lyrics :(
Some of my favorite sayings:
"Handle with Care"
"Get in a straight line and form a circle"
Lots to mention.... I love food with simple flavors and qualtiy ingredients, fresh herbs, fresh vegetables from the garden, good seafood, fruit desserts (my all time favorite is Blueberry Crumble/Buckle with vanilla ice cream!).
I LOVE lemon and vanilla :)
Anything with chocolate is hard to pass up, I love to cook, but pretty much feel the need to always use a recipe.
I'm not too interested is swapping food items, but if a swap calls for a litttle sweet thing, a little bit is ok, just to try.
home made crafty stuff. (especially sewn or crochetted/knitted)
postcards (stamped and written on)
any ephemera (especially postal) maps photos and albums squashed pennies altered books/journals Asian stuff vintage Valentines and greeting cards postage stamps board game pieces (& Dominoes) playing cards STATIONERY! letter sets
I prefer actually stationery as opposed to notecards. I already have a million notecards. They are easy to find, but letter writing stationery (especially with matching envelopes) is becomming obsolete, so I prefer those :) Surprisingly, I am begining to really like Kawaii stuff, especially the letter set stationery.
My favorite animals:
Snails woodland critters horses rabits lions deer all sea creaures (especially turtles, crabs and sea horses) all birds (especially water wading birds, owls, hawks, and eagles).
I love to go campimg, not primitive, and not in a big fancy RV. We mainly camp at State Parks because they are very afforable and have very nice amenities, and are usually very beautiful. My favorite so far is St. Joseph State Park at Cape San Blas, Florida. It's a piece of heaven on earth!
It really depends on my mood, but: green, turquiose, blue, brown, and gold and red (together). I love lots of colors that go together, especially when they are blended well. All in all, I'd say deep rich colors. I'm not so much of a fan of primary colors, unless it's 4th of July, then I love red white and blue!
